About Us – Razapew
Razapew makes solid-wood furniture for everyday life. The goal is clear: pieces that feel honest in the hand and steady in the home. Tops sit flat, edges are kind to touch, frames stay true, and joints meet cleanly. If you want to see work in person, contact Razapew to arrange a viewing or request finish samples. Seeing and touching real wood explains its character better than any photo.
Business Model
Razapew operates a direct-from-workshop model: designed, built, and shipped straight from the shop to your home. This keeps lead times transparent, quality consistent, and pricing fair—without layers of middlemen. Production is small-batch, with limited custom slots each month, and support is handled by the same team that builds the furniture, so answers are practical and fast.
Materials & Sustainability
Razapew chooses kiln-dried hardwoods to reduce movement from heat, cold, and humidity—oak, walnut, maple, ash, and cherry are most common. Boards are selected for strength and calm grain, then placed so color and figure flow across the top.
Bases may be solid wood for warmth or powder-coated steel from small U.S. fabricators for a slim, modern look. Finishes are low-odor and indoor-safe: a plant-based oil for a matte, natural feel that can be refreshed, or a water-borne clear coat for extra daily protection while keeping the wood’s tone.
Every batch is logged from wood-in to finish-out so care, touch-up, and ordering a matching piece stay simple. Typical U.S. sources include Baillie Lumber, Baird Brothers, and Northwest Hardwoods; metal and hardware often come via McMaster-Carr, with precision cutting by partners such as SendCutSend. Offcuts are reused for jigs, packing blocks, or small goods to limit waste.
Products & Lead Times
Razapew focuses on the pieces used most: dining tables, coffee and side tables, console tables, and work desks with tidy cable pass-throughs. Sizes are practical so the furniture fits real rooms, not just staged photos.
Ready-to-ship items usually leave in 1–2 business days. Made-to-order pieces take about 3–5 weeks depending on design and finish. Production runs are small—around 20–40 pieces per month—so timelines stay realistic and quality stays consistent. If you have a firm date, Razapew will state what is ready now and what can be built on time.
Razapew matches boards that belong together and bonds them into a top that is good-looking and strong. High-stress spots—leg joints, long spans, and corners—receive added support so the piece stays solid over years of use. Threaded inserts and machine bolts seat neatly in the wood, so assembly and disassembly do not loosen the joinery. Leveling feet help the table stand steady on uneven floors.
Dining tables are built for daily life: meals, laptops, crafts, homework, long talks. If you need more knee room, wheelchair clearance, or softer family-friendly edges, Razapew adjusts the design to fit the space.
Process – From Wood to Finished Piece
Acclimation. Lumber arrives, is tagged with source details, and rests to match the shop climate before cutting. This quiet pause helps the boards behave later.
Layout. Boards are laid out on a long bench, moved until color and grain feel calm, then marked. A quick photo records the layout so the same flow shows on the finished top.
Milling & Joinery. Parts are cut to size; domino/biscuit alignment and clamping cauls keep glue-ups flat. Threaded inserts are set for bases so hardware starts cleanly and can be re-tightened over time.
Dry Fit. A full test fit follows—top and base meet, steadiness is checked, and clearances for chairs and knees are confirmed. Small adjustments happen here.
Edge & Surface Work. Edges are eased by hand so sleeves do not snag and elbows rest comfortably. Tight knots are smoothed to keep character without catching. Surfaces are sanded in gentle steps until the touch feels even from corner to corner.
Finishing. The chosen finish is applied: oil for a warm matte feel that can be renewed, or clear coat for extra day-to-day protection. The piece cures fully so the surface is truly ready.
Final QC. A natural-light inspection confirms a flat top, balanced base, clean threads, and an even finish. Order notes are updated with wood, finish, edge profile, and options such as cable holes or a matching bench.
Packing. Packing gets the same care: foam wrap, corner guards, a labeled hardware kit, the right driver, and clear setup steps so arrival and assembly are straightforward.
Custom Orders
Share room size, seating needs, chair models, and preferences like cable pass-throughs or rounder corners. Razapew sends simple sketches to agree on size, leg placement, and clearances, then locks in wood, finish, edge shape, stain match if needed, desk cable holes, and a companion bench.
A **limited number of custom slots—usually 4–8 per month—**keeps schedules reliable. If you need to match an existing piece, photos in natural light help Razapew guide you to the closest wood and finish.
Packing & Delivery
Tops and bases are wrapped with foam and corner guards; a labeled hardware kit and the right driver are included. Many U.S. orders ship with parcel carriers and include tracking; larger tables may travel on a pallet for safer handling. In major metro areas, Razapew can suggest room-of-choice delivery partners when needed.
Planning a move later? Message Razapew. Updated packing guidance can be sent so the piece travels safely again.
Simple Care
Wipe spills promptly. Use coasters and trivets for very hot items. Dust with a soft cloth. Strong sun and very humid rooms can speed up color change; a bit of shade and steady air help.
Oil-finished surfaces can be refreshed about once a year with a simple kit from Razapew. Clear-coated surfaces respond well to a gentle cleaner; avoid harsh chemicals. Re-level the feet after moving. Real wood will mellow with light and time—this slow shift is natural and part of its charm.
